The country’s largest power producing company Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) has confirmed Mrs Rebecca Miano as its CEO, effective immediately.

In August she was appointed in an acting capacity as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer following the retirement of Eng. Albert Mugo on Friday 25th August 2017.

Miano becomes the first woman to hold the position since the company was established in 1 February 1954.

According to Cytonn Investments, with her Miano being at the helm,  KenGen’s score has improved to 77.1 percent from 75.0 percent due to increase in gender diversity score to 36.4 percent from 27.3 percent.

Its ranking has therefore improved to position 14 from position 16.
