Bankers Dominate the Top Movers’ Table at the NSE

Bankers dominated the top movers’ table at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday led by Co-operative Bank, Equity Group, and Kenya Commercial Bank.

Co-operative Bank of Kenya posted a volume of 3.19 million shares followed by Equity Group with 3.15 million shares while Kenya Commercial Bank had 1.61 million shares.

The top mover of the day, however, was Safaricom Limited with 25.55 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.10 trillion. The second mover was KenolKobil with 18.72 million shares.

The top gainer of the day was Longhorn Kenya with 9.80 percent followed by Umeme and Home Afrika with 9.52 and 8.00 percent respectively.

Uchumi Supermarket and CIC Insurance Group gained 5.71 and 5.45 percent respectively at the price of 3.70 and 5.80 shillings per share respectively.

ARM Cement was the top loser of the day. The cement manufacturer lost 10.00 percent at the price of 10.80 shillings per share.

Trans-Century and National Bank lost 7.35 and 6.86 percent respectively at the price of 6.30 and 9.50 shillings per share respectively.

Kakuzi and WPP ScanGroup lost 6.57 and 6.22 percent respectively at the price of 327.00 and 17.35 shillings per share respectively.
