Kenya Airways Flies High To Close the Week as Top Gainer

Kenya Airways scaled the heights, once again to emerge as the top gainer of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange on Friday.

Kenya Airways gained 9.69 percent at the price of 12.45 shillings per share. The airline seems to have won the hearts of many investors following its relisting at the NSE earlier this week.

East African Portland Cement was the second top gainer with 9.09 percent at the price of 33.00 shillings per share. Sameer Africa gained 7.41 percent at the price of 2.90 shillings per share.

Home Afrika and Sasini Tea and Coffee gained 7.41 and 7.14 percent respectively at the price of 1.45 and 26.25 shillings per share respectively.

Safaricom Limited is still the king of the top movers’ table. The telecommunication company posted 12.85 million shares followed by Equity Group with 2.42 million shares.

Kenya Commercial Bank posted a volume of 1.20 million shares while Nairobi Securities Exchange and KenolKobil posted 506,400 and 415,400 shares respectively.

Eveready East Africa was the top loser of the day. The company lost 6.25 percent at the price of 2.25 shillings per share. It was followed by Nairobi Business Ventures with a loss of 5.88 at a price of 3.20 shillings per share.

Kenya Power and Lighting and Crown Berger lost 4.67 and 4.40 percent respectively while Standard Chartered Bank lost 4.11 percent.
