Did you know that the former President of the United States of America, Barack Obama is the most followed politician on Twitter?

Through his Twitter handle, @BarackObama, the former US leader has 98.3 million followers making him the most followed politician in the world.

Obama is, however, third most followed behind pop stars Katy Perry with 107 million followers and Justin Bieber with 104 million followers.

In the recent years, Twitter has become a powerful tool of passing across messages from leaders and civilians alike.

The current President of the United States, Donald Trump has often found himself brushing people the wrong way due to his controversial tweets.

Pop Francis has more than 15 million followers on Twitter as at this month.
