Liberty Kenya and Uchumi Supermarket Take Over NSE as Top Gainers

Liberty Kenya was the top gainer of the day followed by Uchumi Supermarket and Nairobi Business Ventures as the week came to a close.

Liberty Kenya gained 9.92 percent at the price of 13.30 shillings per share. Uchumi and Nairobi Business Ventures gained 9.21 and 8.77 percent respectively at the price of 4.15 and 3.10 shillings per share respectively.

Mumias Sugar Company and Deacons (East Africa) gained 4.55 and 4.29 percent respectively at the price of 1.15 and 3.65 shillings per share respectively.

Standard Group was the top loser of the day. The company lost 10.00 percent at the price of 33.75 shillings per share.

Trans-Century and East African Breweries Limited lost 8.09 and 5.74 percent respectively at the price of 6.25 and 230.00 shillings per share respectively.

Nairobi Securities Exchange and Longhorn Kenya lost 4.71 and 3.64 percent respectively at the price of 20.25 and 5.30 shillings per share respectively.

Safaricom Limited retained its position as the top mover of the day. The telecommunication company posted 11.87 million shares followed by Co-operative Bank of Kenya with a volume of 8.51 million shares.

Kenya Electricity Generating Company, Kenya Commercial Bank, and Equity Group posted 4.54, 3.80 and 3.34 million shares respectively.
