Safaricom (NSE: SCOM) has opened its newly refurbished shop in Kitui town as it seeks to expand its regional presence and enhance customer experience.
The revamped retail outlet which had been temporarily closed for two months for renovation and upgrade is among nine shops serving customers in Nairobi East region.
“We remain focused in offering the best experience to our customers. As part of our regional strategy, we continue to expand our network through the roll out of new sites and to increase our customer delivery channels. The refurbishment of this outlet will not only offer all Safaricom services and products, but will also enable us meet the growing customer demands as we aim to provide the best experience to customers visiting the outlet.” Said Paul Kasimu, Director Resources, Safaricom.
The opening of the Kitui outlet comes a week after Safaricom opened a new Ronald Ngala Shop in the CBD, Greenspan Mall Shop, Nyahururu shop and a remodeled shop at the Village Market to meet the growing demand for the Telco’s services in the regions.
“We are hoping to expand our footprint in the Nairobi East region and reach more customers. The opening of more retail outlets will help reduce the average footfall at the shop to below 250 customers per day by increasing the number of care desks where customers can access basic services such as SIM Swap, PUK, MPESA issues without having to go and cue at the shop,” Said Kasimu.
