Who is Samantha and Why Are Tongues Wagging?

BY Juma · January 30, 2018 05:01 am

There has been a lot of talk, both online and offline about Samantha, a new ‘slay queen’ in town who has left tongues of both men and women wagging.

Apparently, Samantha is a sex doll that has been innovated by a certain scientist with a silicon skin and the ability to satisfy someone sexually.

It is said that the doll has also been programmed to remember the owner’s birthday and such things as favorite music, the movie as well as color.

Kenyan men have taken over the subject with excitement and there has been an online war between men and women.

Some men feel that the ‘advent’ of Samantha is long overdue and it was time to ‘teach ladies’ some lessons.

Women, on the other hand, have been bashing men, calling them perverts who are only out to satisfy their own desires.

Although people are discussing ‘Samantha’ in hushed tones, the discussion has brought to the service critical issues that the society needs to tackle or risk losing the much-admired values.

Do some men still appreciate the value of women in their lives?

Following the conversation online about ‘Samantha,’ it appears most men no longer appreciate the value of women in their lives. The discussion reveals how some men only consider women as tools only meant for a biological entertainment and not any other thing. For a man to reach a point of thinking that he can do better with a sex doll and live comfortably without any ‘stress’ than with a real woman.

Have women failed in their role?

Have women in Kenya failed in their role especially on how they view relationships? Most men have blamed women for commercializing relationships. They say most women nowadays, see men as potential investments meant to foot their bills. Men say that women have become ‘expensive’ to manage and maintain but women dispute these ‘allegations’.

Is the society losing its values?

Is the society losing the long known values that govern families? Is it ethical to discuss ‘Samantha’ and see ‘her’ as an alternative to another human being?

Illegal

Currently, in Kenya, it is illegal to produce, display, distribute and sell any form of pornographic materials and this includes the sale of sex toys.
