Top 5 Movers on Thursday at the NSE accounted for 28.67 Million Shares

The top five movers at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) accounted for an accumulated volume of 28.67 million shares sold.

The top mover of the day was Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) with a volume of 10.81 million followed by Safaricom Limited with 9.39 million shares.

Barclays Bank, KenolKobil and Mumias Sugar Company posted volumes of 4.20, 2.37 and 1.90 million respectively.

Kapchorua Tea Kenya was the top gainer of the day. The company gained 8.40 percent at the price of 71.00 shillings per share.

Home Afrika and NIC Bank were second and third gainers of the day respectively with 7.69 and 7.35 percent respectively at the price of 1.40 and 36.50 shillings per share respectively.

Barclays Bank and Trans-Century gained 7.14 and 6.19 percent respectively at the price of 10.50 and 6.00 shillings per share respectively.

The top loser of the day was East African Cables. The company lost 9.09 percent followed by Deacons (East Africa) with a loss of 6.35 percent.

Sameer Africa, Mumias Sugar Company, and Unga group lost 5.45, 4.76 and 2.63 percent respectively.
