Safaricom does it Again with Flex Inatosha Product

The world of internet is evolving with each passing day. According to various economic analysts, the next big player in communication market will be a data provider.
In an article Why the Next Telecommunication Giant Must Invest in Data, the author describes at length why internet data is important, where holes exist in Kenya and why the next big player must invest in the sector.
In my quest to want to find out who is offering the best product as far as data bundles are concerned out there, I kicked off with the three major telecommunication companies in Kenya.
Let us face it, almost every Kenyan is consuming the internet right now. With smartphones going for as little as 3,000 shillings, you don’t expect people be still in the dark days of Nokia C110.
Of the three service providers, my attention was captured by Safaricom Limited. Safaricom have this services called FLEX which has now been enhanced to FLEX INATOSHA. Many people have not been understanding how this FLEX thing works. Some have been thinking that the service is only meant for the millennial. As an entrepreneur, I find the service of great importance and of great help and I will tell you why.
What exactly is FLEX?
Flex is a new type of bundle from Safaricom Limited that gives the user the ability and freedom to use data, make calls and send SMS through the same bundle. What this means that FLEX INATOSHA is THREE IN ONE. You buy a bundle and you are able to browse, make calls and send SMSs.
The most convenient about this bundle is that is bought by the use of an airtime either daily, weekly or monthly through either *100# and *200#.
What do you get with FLEX INATOSHA?
When you buy a FLEX bundle, you get FLEX units which you then use to call, browse or text giving you more value than a regular airtime.
Why I think this product is important is instead of one being stuck with only one product say data bundle, SMS or airtime for calling, it gives you the freedom of using a single product to call, browse and send those SMSs.
What is more is that FLEX actually saves you money because you get to get 40 percent more value than regular airtime. You also get free FLEX UNITS every time you send money using M-PESA.
Why I think FLEX is suitable for the current entrepreneur
Flex is convenient. One product gives you the freedom to call, browse and send text messages.
Flex saves you money. It gives you 40 percent more value than the normal airtime because of its “multipurpose” nature.
Flex does not restrict you. Once purchased, you can use it to make calls, browse and send messages without worrying.
“As part of our strategic objective of putting the customer first, we are designing and delivering products and services that meet the exact needs of our different customer segments. With ‘FLEX’, we are offering freedom and flexibility to our customers to navigate across our different products without restrictions,” said Bob Collymore, CEO, Safaricom in March 2017.
Upon signing up for the new service, customers will be able to convert their regular Safaricom airtime into ‘FLEX’ units, which they will be able to use to gain 35 percent savings on calls, SMS or data. The new offering will allow ‘FLEX’ customers to earn loyalty points every time they send above 100 shillings on M-PESA.
If for sure you are looking for a bundle that will give you the flexibility you want, the FLEX actually INATOSHA.
