Shareholder’s Wealth Grow By 1.681 in Friday’s Session

Equities persisted their strong performance in the previous session to close the week in the gain territory as the major indices closed up from the previous session albeit on lower turnover.
The shareholders’ wealth grew by 1.681 billion shillings, with the advancing counters outpacing the declining counters in the session, 22 vs. 13, respectively.
Equity Group Holdings Plc (NSE: EQTY) trumped Safaricom Plc (NSE: SCOM) to take the position as the top mover in Friday’s trading accounting for 22.6 percent of total trades with the latter coming in second with 18.7 percent of total trades.
Kenol Kobil moved 4.91 million shares, to be the third top traded counter albeit closing unchanged in price.
The top five traded counters accounted for 74.1 percent of total market activity with most of the counters driven by local investor activity which was up 56.98 percent.
Foreign investor activity retreated in the session to account for 31.75 percent of total market activity from 56.52 percent recorded previously with most activity seen in Kenol Kobil Ltd (NSE: KENO) which accounted for 28.5 percent of the desk’s trades.
The counter exuded net selling activity recording the day’s highest net outflows while Safaricom Plc (NSE: SCOM), accounting for 19.75 percent of the trades, exuded net buying activity with the second highest net inflows.
Equity Group Holdings Plc (NSE: EQTY) recorded the day’s highest net foreign inflows compared to its net selling activity seen in the previous session. On the overall, foreign investors were net sellers in the session, for the fourth session in a row.
The bond turnover increased to 3.90 billion shillings from 2.07 billion shillings compared to the previous session.
