Did you know that the world now has 2208 billionaires and that they are even richer than ever before?
According to an annual ranking by Forbes, the number of billionaires in the world has increased from 2043 in 2017 with an average wealth per billionaire being 4.1 billion dollars.
All the billionaires in the world now have a total of 9.1 trillion dollars from 7.7 trillion dollars in 2017.
Many of those holding top positions in the billionaires’ list are self-made entrepreneurs.
Towards the end of 2017, Oxfam revealed that one percent of the world’s richest people controlled 82 percent of the whole wealth in the world.
According to the report, half of the population in the wealth did not make any wealth as 42 percent of them struggled to live without a meal.
Oxfam says that the number of billionaires in the world grew six times faster than that of ordinary workers since the year 2010 with a billionaire being created every two days.
