Equities Hit an All-Time High of 183.57 Points

Equities entered another gaining session for the third trading day this week with the all share Index closing at an all-time high of 183.57 points.

Equity was the top mover, accounting for 37.1 percent of the day’s total trades. The counter was mainly traded by local investors and a local fund with demand pushing the price 2.56 percent in the session.

A similar trend was seen in KCB Group Ltd (NSE: KCB) which was the top third traded counter in the day. Local investor demand pushed the price up 2.00 percent in the session.

Local investors dominated activity accounting for 71.18 percent of total market activity up from 52 percent recorded in the previous session.

Activity by foreign investors further declined in the session with the desk mainly trading in the top banks and Safaricom. They remained net sellers on Equity and KCB, taking profits after the counters reached their YTD highs at 25.79 percent and 19.30 percent.

On the overall, the desk recorded net foreign outflows for the fifth consecutive session.
