JKIA Recognized As The Best Improved Airport In Africa

The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, JKIA, has been awarded the best-improved airport in Africa. The Airports Council International (ACI), which voices airports around the world, distinguished for its improvement and excellence in customer service experience.

The 2017 Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards named JKIA as the best-improved airport in Africa in a prestigious ceremony.

JKIA’s recognition aligns itself with the consistent efforts to better their commitment to service and excellence. The airport was recognized for offering the most comprehensive passenger service-benchmarking program in the aviation industry. This follows a survey done by ACI ASQ that captures passenger contact points in more than 340 airports across the globe.

ACI ASQ has an exceptional reputation for being a world-class benchmarking program. It focuses on allowing airports make better changes and carry out improvements by benchmarking their services against other airports.

The Kenya Airports Authority’s (KAA) Managing Director, Jonny Andersen noted that the recognition was timely and it came at a time when JKIA is undergoing major reorganization and modernization operations deemed to firmly root its position as a regional hub.

Recently, the airports’ Service Charter was signed by all Government Agencies, which committed them to provide consistent, professional and high-quality service.

“Today’s recognition shows that the measures we have set up to improve services are starting to bear fruits. The benefits of all agencies working as a team are conspicuous. There is, still, a lot to be done I believe that we are headed in the right direction.” Mr. Andersen added.
