Shilling was on the Receiving End Against the Dollar, Pound and Euro on Tuesday

The Kenyan shillings was on the receiving end against the US Dollar, the Sterling Pound, and the Euro on Tuesday.

Against the US Dollar, the Kenyan Shilling weakened 0.004 percent from Monday’s level to 101.33 while against the Sterling Pound, the local currency went down by 0.21 percent from Monday’s level to 139.92.

Kenya Shilling weakened further against the Euro by 0.03 percent from Monday’s level to 124.77.

Kenyan Stock Market

Market turnover at the bourse declined 12.1 percent to USD 8.27 million or an equivalent to 838.1 million shillings from Monday’s trading.

The NSE 20 and NASI gained 0.06 percent and 0.24 percent to close at 3,735.95 and 181.02.

Foreign investors assumed a net buying position by accounting for 56.3 percent of total market purchases and 48.4 percent of total market sales.

EAC Markets   

In Rwanda, the RSI and RASI rose 0.36 percent and 0.05 percent to close at 132.19 and 133.03 respectively while in Uganda, the USE ALSI and USE LCI went up 0.23 percent and 0.11 percent to close at 2,090.67 and 392.45.
