Since time immemorial, millions of Christians around the world have been living under the notion that sinners will go to hell while those who repent will go to heaven.
It now turns out that sinners have something to smile about after a confirmation by the head of the Catholic Church in the world that hell is just a myth that does not exist.
“Hell doesn’t exist”, Pope Francis is reported to have told Eugenio, founder of one of the Italy’s leading newspapers.
According to the Pope, souls of sinners will simply disappear and they will go unpunished.
The Pope says, those who repent, will be forgiven by God and their souls will join another ranks of souls meant to praise God.
“There is no hell. The souls of sinners will simply disappear and they will go unpunished. Those who repent will be forgiven, ” the Pope is reported to have said.
On Friday, the Vatican forced the Pope to deny the allegations after clear rifts emerged at the religious city.
If indeed the Pope has doubts about the existence of hell, then what will millions of Catholic faithfuls around the world believe?
The interview between the Pope and the atheist journalist happened without any notes or recording as it is the rule at the Vatican.
