Safaricom Plc Top Mover at the NSE as Eaagads Dominates the Top Losers’ Table

Safaricom Plc was the top mover of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange on Thursday having sold 11.00 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.13 trillion.

Barclays Bank with a market capitalization of 72.78 billion sold 2.30 million shares followed by Kenya Power and Lighting Company with 1.19 million shares.

Equity Group sold 1.01 million shares while Co-operative Bank of Kenya sold 726,700 shares.

The top movers’ table was dominated by three lenders; Barclays Bank, Equity Group and Co-operative Bank of Kenya

Eaagads was the top loser of the day with 9.09 percent at the price of 17.50 shillings per share. BOC Kenya and Sameer Africa lost 5.56 and 5.45 percent at the price of 85.00 and 2.60 shillings per share respectively.

Longhorn Kenya lost 5.05 percent at the price of 4.70 shillings per share while Uchumi Supermarket shed off 4.88 percent at the price of 1.95 shillings per share.

The top gainer of the day was Standard Group with 9.84 percent at the price of 33.50 shillings per share. Umeme came in second with 9.80 percent at the price of 11.20 shillings per share while Flame Tree Group came in third with 9.76 percent at the price of 4.50 shillings per share.

Total Kenya and Trans-Century gained 9.38 and 7.61 percent at the price of 35.00 and 4.95 shillings per share respectively.
