Fuel prices for Super petrol, diesel and kerosene have slightly increased following the latest review by the Energy and Regulatory Commission (ERC).

According to the review, Nairobi residents will be forced to pay more for super petrol which has increased by 34 cents to 107.17 shillings, diesel 78 cents to 96.64 shillings and kerosene by 1.50 shillings to 78.22 shillings.

The increase has been attributed to the changes to the average landed cost of super petrol which increased by 1.18 percent while diesel increased by 2.91 percent and kerosene by 3.06 percent.

“The changes in this month’s prices have been as a consequence of the average landed cost of super petrol, which increased by 1.18 percent, diesel increasing by 2.91 percent and kerosene rising by 3.06 percent,” said ERC director-general Pavel Oimeke in a statement.

ERC further noted that the shilling appreciated 0.61 percent against the dollar to stand at 100.54 units during the review period, which helped reduce Kenya’s foreign exchange costs in cargo procurement.

Mombasa households, on the other hand, will pay 103.88 shillings for a liter of Super Petrol, 95.35 shillings for a liter of diesel and 78.22 shillings for a liter of Kerosene.

In Nakuru, motorists will pay 107.86 shillings for a liter of super petrol, 99.54 shillings for a liter of diesel and 79.05 shillings for a liter of kerosene.

Those in Eldoret will pay 109.05 shillings for a liter of super petrol, 100.72 shillings for a liter of diesel and 80.12 shillings for kerosene.

Kisumu motorists, on the other hand, will pay 109.11 shillings per liter for super petrol, 100.79 shillings for diesel and 80.12 shillings for kerosene.
