Court of Appeal Throws out Alfred Mutua

It is now clear that the people of Machakos County will be going for another election to either retain their current governor or elect a new one.

This follows Court of Appeal nullifying the election of Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua. Following a successful appeal by his competitor, Wavinya Ndeti.

Judge William Ouko, in his ruling, said that the election results declared by the returning officer failed the constitutional test and could not be verified.

According to IEBC, Alfred Mutua garnered 238,405 votes against Ndeti’s who garnered 199,257 in August 8 poll
