Nairobi Business Ventures Top Gainer as Trans-Century Sees Stars Again

Top Gainers

Nairobi Business Community was the top gainer of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday. The company gained 10.00 percent at the price of 2.20 shillings per share.

Uchumi Supermarket and Deacons (East Africa) gained 9.09 and 8.00 percent at the price of 1.80 and 1.35 shillings per share respectively.

Kenya Power and Lighting Company and CIC Insurance Group gained 7.44 and 7.29 percent at the price of 6.50 and 5.15 shillings per share respectively.

Top Losers

Trans-Century was the top loser of the day with 8.86 percent at the price of 3.60 shillings per share. Express followed closely with a loss of 8.47 percent at the price of 5.40 shillings per share.

Flame Tree group and Total Kenya lost 6.67 and 5.51 percent at the price of 3.50 and 30.00 shillings per share respectively. Eveready lost 3.57 percent at the price of 1.35 shillings per share.

Top Movers

Safaricom PLC emerged as the top mover of the day after selling 5.93 million shares followed by Equity Group with 2.23 million shares.

Kenya Power and Lighting Company and Kenya Commercial Bank sold 1.45 million and 810,800 shares while Barclays Bank of Kenya sold 638,200 shares.
