Safaricom PLC Rules the Top Movers’ Table at the NSE, Tuesday

Safaricom PLC was the top mover of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange. The telecommunication giant sold 5.69 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.16 trillion.

The second top mover of the day was Kenya Commercial Bank who sold 3.92 million shares at 150.23 billion market capitalization followed by Equity Bank who saw 1.73 million shares sold on Tuesday.

ARM Cement and Mumias Sugar Company sold 889,700 and 786,000 shares respectively with a market capitalization of 3.74 and 1.15 billion respectively.

Top Gainers

The top gainer of the day was Standard Group with 10.00 percent at the price of 27.50 shillings per share. The second top gainer was Deacons (East Africa) with 8.33 percent at the price of 1.30 shillings per share.

ARM Cement and Mumias Sugar Company gained 8.33 and 7.14 percent at the price of 3.90 and 0.75 shillings per share. Carbacid Investments gained 6.67 percent at the price of 11.20 shillings per share.

Top Losers

Trans-Century was the top loser of the day with 9.09 percent at the price of 4.00 shillings per share followed by Total Kenya with a loss of 6.67 percent at the price of 28.00 shillings per share.

Barclays NewGold ETF lost 3.56 percent at the price of 1,220.00 shillings per share while East African Cables and Eveready East Africa lost 3.53 and 3.45 percent at the price of 4.10 and 1.40 shillings per share respectively.
