Shilling Blooms Against the Dollar, Euro and Pound on Friday

Kenyan Shilling
Against the US Dollar, the Kenyan Shilling strengthened 0.03% to close at 100.46 (2.68% year-to-date).
Against the Sterling Pound, the Kenyan Shilling strengthened 0.17% to close at 132.09 (4.80% year-to-date).
Against the Euro, the Kenya Shilling strengthened 0.19% to close at 117.39 (4.77% year-to-date).
Kenyan Stock Market
Market turnover at the bourse stood at USD 2.71 MN (KES 272.7 MN) a 2.5% drop from yesterday’s turnover of USD 2.78.
NSE 20 gained 0.25% to close at 3,320.44 while NASI declined 0.11% to close at 172.47.
Foreign investors assumed a net selling position by accounting for 59.5% of total market sales and 32.8% of total market purchases.
EAC Markets
Rwanda: RSI and RSE ALSI dropped 0.12% and 0.02% to close at 131.77 and 131.62 respectively.
Uganda: USE ALSI rose 0.54% while USE LCI held constant to close at 2,076.84 and 420.58 respectively.
Tanzania: DSEI declined 0.20% to close at 2,316.67 while DSE TSI gained 0.02% to close at 4,207.84
