Bright Academy Nairobi Set to Benefit from Schneider Electric’s Solar

Schneider Electric Nairobi has connected Bridge International School in Sinai, Mukuru Slum, with an Offgrid Solar PV System featuring two solar panels, installation of lighting & portable lighting accessories, which is expected to improve the learning experience at the institution.

With the solar installation, the school now has power for lighting and charging of electronic devices giving a seamless learning experience to the school administration who will be able to access the curriculum on demand.

The move will also enable the class 7 students and class 8 candidates will be able to put in more learning hours as they prepare for the upcoming nationwide examinations.

Bridge International School focuses on providing quality education to the less privileged members of the society by adopting evidenced-based, data-driven and technology-enabled approach to learning. The teachers leverage on the power of connected devices to help them deliver professionally developed, up-to-the-minute lesson plans with the core foundation needed for a successful learning experience in each subject, each day.

“Schneider Electric is happy to give children the opportunity to study and prepare for their exams outside the daytime period. Students can now come early in the morning to get ahead of the day or stay back in the evening hours for further reading,” said Edouard Heripret, Schneider Electric East Africa General Manager during the installation and handing over.

The installed system has been engineered to not only provide sustainable energy security but also ensuring no maintenance cost, environmental friendliness and zero power bills, something which the school previously incurred from third parties for charging the learning tablets and teachers phones.
