Almost 4,000 women and children were murdered in South Africa between April 2017 and March 2018 according to statistics released by police in the country.
The stats showed that a total of 3,915 women and children were murdered during the period under review with the total number of those who had been murdered standing at 20,336.
According to the stats, a total of 886 women and children were murdered in KwaZulu-Natal, 730 in Eastern Cape, 649 in Western Cape, 657 in Gauteng, 254 in Free State, 231 in North West and 76 in Northern Cape.

Be Humble or Go Back To Jail – Kagame Tells Opposition Leader
President Paul Kagame has warned the opposition leader, Victoire Ingabare ‘to be humble’ or he will throw her back in jail.
Last week, Kagame pardoned more than 2,000 prisoners, among them the opposition leader who was serving 15 years in jail.
“Then you see people saying ‘I did not ask for mercy, they released us because of pressure”. Pressure here? If you continue believing that, don’t be shocked if you go back to jail,” said Kagame.

Showdown is looming in Uganda ahead of the return of pop star turned politician Bobi Wine who has been abroad for treatment.

Tanzania To Start Using Natural Gas – Powered Buses
The government of Tanzania is planning to shift from using diesel-powered buses to natural gas-powered buses according to the country’s Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC)
The authorities in Tanzania plan to shift more than 800 buses to use of natural gas a move that is likely to cut fuel use by up to 50 percent.
