Morgan Heritage, legendary reggae music group, has moved the Free Bobi Wine Campaign a notch higher after it released a song dubbed “Be Free” to immortalize the Ugandan Member of Parliament.

Bobi, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, is currently undergoing treatment in the US after being brutally tortured by Uganda’s soldiers over his show of defiance to Uganda’s president Yoweri Museveni.

I want to be free, free from what you want me to be, you don’t get to choose, free to be the best I can be” is the chorus lyrics of the song that is deeply inspired by President Museveni show of dictatorship and ruthlessness towards Bobi Wine.

Morgan Heritage, in the song, talks about the need of freedom, peace and unity in Uganda and the World at large. Mojo Morgan, one of the group’s members, announced the release of the song in the tweet below:

”This one is for you HE Bobi Wine. Get well soon. The journey has began Be Free featuring Gramps Morgan, Morgan Heritage. Uganda. Peace For Uganda #BeFreeUganda”.

The sensational song has caused excitement to both Bobi’s and Morgan Heritage’s funs given the wide number of shares. This has come shortly after, Jose Chameleone’s baby brother; Pallaso released a song calling for the release of Bobi Wine.

Meanwhile, Bobi, while in the states attended an interview with Aljazeera where he continued calling out Uganda’s youth to take a stand and demand the dignity they deserved. “Today, the regime seems to be shaking, simply because Ugandans are more united and I continue to call upon Ugandans to stand, to be resilient and to continuously demand for the dignity that they deserve, “said Bobi.

Bobi Wine added that it was time for the Ugandan citizens to rise up against what he alleged was torture and executions by the serving President Yoweri Museveni.

“I feel humbled that my brutalization attracted attention of friends across the world, but at the same time, I feel indebted to the men and women who have endured similar torture over the years, in particular, the people that were arrested together with me,” a rather determined Bobi concluded.
