Safaricom (NSE: SCOM) has announced new Home Fibre packages that will combine mobile voice, mobile data, SMS and Home Fibre in one package.
Known as Home Fibre Plus, the new packages come at a time consumer preferences are shifting to a single solution that meets all their communication needs both at home and on the go. This means that for a single fee, Safaricom Home Fibre customers can enjoy data connectivity, calls and SMS wherever they are.
“Three years ago, we began our Home Fibre journey in response to demand from our customers for fast, reliable and unlimited connectivity at home. With increasingly digital lifestyles, the needs of our customers have continued to evolve, hence our latest all-in-one offering that seeks to cater to their communication demands both in and out of the home,” said Sylvia Mulinge, Chief Customer Officer, Safaricom.
At the same time, Safaricom has also partnered with Jubilee Insurance to provide Home Fibre customers with a preferential home insurance cover. Unlike typical home insurance policies, customers will not be required to compile an inventory of their household goods to benefit from the policy.
“Through constant innovation, one of our primary goals at Jubilee Insurance is to ensure we provide relevant solutions to our clients’ needs in the easiest way possible. This partnership with Safaricom is just the beginning and we will continue to disrupt the industry so as to reach more people with our insurance solutions so they can live free,” said Winnie Njau, General Manager – General Insurance Business, Jubilee Insurance.
To enjoy the Home Fibre Plus packages, Safaricom Home Fibre customers can dial * 400#, select “Manage Your Subscription” and then select “Home Fibre Plus” option and pick their preferred package.
Equally, Home Fibre customers can pick their preferred home insurance plans by dialing *400# and select the “Home Insurance” option under “Manage your subscriptions”.
“The Home Fibre offering has also been instrumental in providing peace-of-mind to our customers when it comes to home security. Our partnership with Jubilee to offer a simplified and affordable home insurance package is a further boost in meeting this need,” said Miss Mulinge.
