The government in Burundi has ordered the United Nations Human Rights Council to shut its office in the country within the next two months.

According to sources within UN, the Burundian government sent a verbal message to resident UN coordinator Garry Conille for him to transmit the message to the rights council’s High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet in Geneva.

“All international staff must immediately be redeployed and the office has two months to pack up and close its doors,” said the message from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Burundi.

The government of Burundi has been accused of human rights where it has been using security forces to shoot and kill those who oppose it.

Farmers in Kenya have been warned about fake macadamia seedlings that are being sold across the country as demand for the seeds continues to increase due to higher returns.

Farmers across the country are rushing to plant macadamia after its price skyrocketed to 200 shillings per kilo during the last harvesting season in September.

Stakeholders now say that unscrupulous traders in Meru, Embu, and Nyeri counties are exploiting farmers who desperately need the seeds by supplying them with uncertified seedlings that go for between 300 and 400 shillings each.

Tanzania Will Not Take Loans that Come With Stringent Conditions

President John Pombe Magufuli has said his government will avoid loans from multilateral financing institutions that have been giving loans with tough conditions.

Magufuli said his government might soon be taking loans from such institutions as the African Development Bank (AfDB) than other institutions that only want huge interests from the government.

“The African Development Bank has less stringent terms, and you can see what it has done for this country,” he said.
