The KCSE results for more than 600,000 candidates are set to be released anytime on Friday by the Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed.
Both parents and candidates across the country have been waiting with an abated breath the release of the results after it was announced that the marking had been completed last week.
The results are said to have already been presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta, a clear indication that the results will be out any time soon.
There was a rumor of the results being released on Wednesday but it never came to pass. According to CS Amina, the results must be released before Christmas and, therefore, it is either today, (Thursday) or tomorrow (Friday).
Concerns are, however, being raised on the ranking of schools. Word has it that the Ministry of Education will not rank schools despite the existence of the law that requires them to do so.
Ranking of schools was banned in 2014, leading to a public uproar. A bill was presented in parliament and later signed into law by President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2016 requiring the Ministry to rank schools.
