Tomatoes Average Ksh. 5,627 Countrywide as Kisii Takes the Lead

A 64-kilogram bag of tomatoes is retailing at an average market price of 5627 shillings across the country with Kisii having the highest market price of 8,000 shillings and Nakuru and Kitale reporting the lowest price of 4,000 shillings.

A 138-kilogram bag of carrots goes for 7,000 shillings in Isiolo, 5,600 shillings in Kitale, 4,800 shillings in Mombasa, 3,600 shillings in Kisii, 3,500 shillings in Nairobi, 3,000 shillings in Nakuru, 2,600 shillings in Eldoret and 2,500 shillings in Kisumu.

Spring onions, on the other hand, retails as follows in selected markets across the country: 5,500 shillings in Kisii, 4,000 shillings in Kitale, 3,800 shillings in Mombasa, 2,500 shillings in Nairobi, 2,400 shillings in Kisumu,1,300 shillings in Eldoret and 1,000 shillings in Nakuru. This is for a bag weighing 142 kilograms.
