Umeme Kicks off the Week as NSE’s Top Gainer

The top gainer of the day was Umeme with 10 percent at the price of 7.70 shillings per share followed by Kenya Airways who gained 9.90 percent at the price of 9.10 shillings per share.

Uchumi Supermarket, Home Afrika and Kenya Power and Lighting Company gained 8.97, 6.06 and 5.42 percent at the price of 0.85, 0.70 and 5.06 shillings per share respectively.

East African Portland Cement was the top loser of the day with 8.82 percent at the price of 15.50 shillings per share.

Wpp ScanGroup and Britam Holdings lost 7.89 and 3.81 percent at the price of 12.85 and 9.60 shillings per share respectively.

Total Kenya and Diamond Trust Bank lost 2.99 and 2.67 percent at the price of 27.60 and 146.00 shillings per share respectively.

Safaricom Plc was the top mover of the day having sold 23.04 million shares followed by Barclays Bank of Kenya who sold 2.71 million shares.

Kenya Commercial Bank, Co-operative Bank of Kenya and Kenya Power sold 2.00, 1.13 and 1.06 million shares respectively.
