One of the most used birth control methods, birth control pills or also known as contraceptive pills are women’s oral medication in an attempt to prevent gestation for various reasons.

Either a couple decided to have the family planning for a sustainable household or simply because the individual is sexually active which would like to avoid unplanned pregnancy.

With this said, there are many questions regarding some birth control pills like Errin that many patients ask since they would want to know their options more or know what lies ahead in taking medicine. Because of this, here are the gathered frequently asked questions about taking the birth control pill Errin.

What is Errin Birth Control Pill?

The Errin contraceptive pill is a progestin-only type of birth control pill that is to be taken every day to prevent pregnancy. The pills come in a pack which consists of 28 pills to be taken every 24 hours so that you will receive a steady dose of progestin, the active hormone of this contraceptive.

So, how does this birth control pill work? Errin mainly works by making some changes within the cervical mucus of a woman wherein it is thickened, making it difficult for the sperm to get through the cervix, therefore, preventing the occurrence of the fertilization of an egg.

Furthermore, it reduces the chances of pregnancy through thinning the uterus’ lining making the chances of pregnancy lessen through avoiding the implantation of the fertilized egg to the uterus, if by chance that an egg has become fertilized.

What to Consider Before Taking Errin Birth Control Pills?

In taking Errin birth control pills, you should know beforehand the considerations that you must put into light before taking it. Thus, here are the things that you should consider and talk to your doctor before consuming the said pill:

  • If you just had childbirth and is still breastfeeding your baby, it is highly recommended that you should wait six weeks before taking the Errin contraceptive pill. With this, it will give your body the needed time to establish a sufficient amount to milk supply.
  • You should not smoke while taking this contraceptive pill since it might increase your risk of health issues like blood clots, heart attack, stroke, and increase in your blood pressure.
  • If you have experienced any of the following symptoms before taking Errin, do notify your doctor about it. This includes blood clots, high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, and abnormal breast exam.
  • You should tell your doctor if you have any other medication or you will be starting a new prescription. Consult your doctor beforehand to know if it is safe to do so while taking the birth control pill. Also, you may want to consider some free Errin coupon that might be of help to you since it is available in some local pharmacies.

What Happens If You Miss One?

If by chance, you were to miss a dose of Errin, the birth control pill, then you should take the dose as soon as you remember that you forgot to take one. However, if it is almost time your next pill, then you should skip the missed dose and take the drug again at the appointed time.

In this case, you should not take an extra dose of medicine to make up for the missed pill. More importantly, you should take note that missing a dose will increase your risk of becoming pregnant, which is why if you are more than 3 hours late in taking your daily dosage then it is best to use a backup birth control option like a condom for at least the next 48 hours.

Lastly, if you have missed your period two months in a row then contact your doctor immediately because chances are, you have become pregnant.

Does Errin Stops Menstruation?

The effect of Errin on a woman’s cycle is different for every woman taking the pill. Some women have stopped experiencing a period when taking the mini-pill birth control. However, there are only light bleeding and spotting occurrences at the time of a woman’s regular period in most cases.

There are also some cases that a woman may not experience any changes in her period. But there is also a small percentage of women that are experiencing a heavier or prolonged period while taking Errin.

Takeaway

If you are someone who is currently looking for an option for a birth control method, then it is best for you to talk to your doctor first to know which birth control method or contraceptive pill fits best for you.

On the other hand, if you are someone that has been prescribed with Errin, then the questions above might have already crossed your mind, with this said, it is essential to absorb the information given to you to be fully equipped with the right knowledge in regard with the birth control pill.
