The price of a 90 Kilogram bag of Green Grams, commonly known as Ndengu is retailing at an average price of 9,220 shillings in selected markets across the country, with one Kg going for roughly 102 shillings.
Markets in Nakuru have the lowest price for Ndengu with a 90 Kg bag being sold at 7,500 shillings compared to a price of 6,700 shillings per 90 Kgs in May last year.
Eldoret and Nairobi have the highest prices for a 90 Kg bag at 10,800 shillings and 10,000 shillings respectively.
During the same review period in 2018, Eldoret had a market price of 12,600 per 90 Kgs of Ndengu, while Nairobi had a market price of 9,900 shillings.
Kisumu and Mombasa recorded market prices of 8,800 shillings and 9,000 shillings respectively for a 90 Kg bag of Ndengu.
Meanwhile, Cowpeas, commonly referred to as Kunde is being sold at an average price of 70 shillings per Kilogram, with Mombasa having the lowest price at 40 shillings per Kg.

During the same review period last year, the average price of one kilogram of Kunde was going for roughly 80 shillings.
Prices for Kunde have been slashed almost by half in Mombasa since May last year. The price of a 90 Kg bag of Kunde is being sold at 3,600 shillings in Mombasa compared to 6,300 shillings last year in May.
The price of a 90 Kg bag of Kunde in Nairobi is being sold at a market price of 5,000 shillings compared to 7,650 shillings in May 2018.
Prices have remained the same in Nakuru and Kisumu since last year at a market price of 8,500 shillings in both towns.
Fresh peas, commonly known as Minji, are being sold at 5,114 shillings per 51 Kgs, with Mombasa having the highest price of 7,750 shillings.
Kisumu has the lowest market price for Minji, where a 51 Kg bag is being sold at 2,500 shillings.
Mombasa has the highest market price for a 51 Kg bag of Minji, at a price of 6,120 shillings.
