James Githii Mburu is the New KRA Boss

National Treasury CS Henry Rotich has appointed James Githii Mburu as the new Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Commissioner General.

Mr. Mburu has taken over from Mr. John Njiraini whose term came to an end but had been recalled to manage a crisis at KRA that had seen the arrest of several employees.

In a gazette notice dated June 6, Mr. Githii will serve for a term of 3 years starting July 1 beating other five applicants for the job.

Others who had applied included Julius Mwatu, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) chairman, Richard Boro who is the former KPMG partner, Duncan Otieno Onduru, the Executive Director of the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administration and Andrew Kazora Okello, the regional advisor in charge of East and Central Africa on tax matters.
