Crispus Sidano Mwandime, the OCS Cheptais, was found dead in his rental home in Bungoma County on 27th June 2019.
The body of OCS Crispus, who was the OCS at Cheptais police station, was found 100 meters from Cheptais police station.
The Bungoma county police commander Francis Sang confirmed the incidence saying that Crispus’s neighbors complained of a foul smell emanating from the house, which happened to be locked from inside.
The County boss said police officers broke into the house with the help of neighbors and discovered the OCS’s decomposing body.
Crispus, according to Sang, was found lying on the floor beside his bed with his face facing the ground.
“There was a trail of vomit and blood stains from the toilet to his bed, he had a visible injury on his forehead. The bedroom was littered with bottles of third generation liquor,” Sang said.
Crispus, who had served for over a decade, was on his annual leave and had gone to process vouchers for last quarter financial year as he was on his annual leave.
Crispus’s body is currently at Life Care hospital mortuary in Bungoma town awaiting a postmortem as investigations proceed.
