A male body fell off a Kenya Airways (KQ) plane last Monday moments before the aircraft landed at Heathrow Airport in London.

The Metropolitan Police in London informed the Kenya Airways Officials about the incident and its being investigated.

KQ officials said in a statement that a body that is yet to be identified fell off the aircraft and landed in a garden in Borough of Lambeth, South London and the owner of the garden is reported to have immediately informed the police who tracked the flight radar to KQ flight 100.

They believe the stowaway was hidden in the undercarriage of the aircraft.

“It is unfortunate that someone has lost his life by stowing aboard one of our aircraft and we would wish to express our condolences,” said KQ director of communications Dennis Kashero.

London police also found a bag containing clothing and foodstuff upon checking the KQ aircraft.

The incident has brought up concerns about the quality of checks done at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport before take-off.
