The top gainer of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) on Monday was Car and General (K) followed by the East African Cables, Sameer Africa, Stanbic Holdings and Uchumi Supermarket.
Car and General (K) gained 9.52 percent at the price of 23.00 shillings per share followed by the East African Cables and Sameer Africa with 8.79 and 5.77 percent at the price of 2.60 and 4.40 shillings per share respectively.
Stanbic Holdings and Ucumi Supermarket gained 4.17 and 2.86 percent at the price of 100.00 and 0.36 shillings per share respectively.
Total Kenya, Express, Liberty Kenya, East African Breweries and Nairobi Securities Exchange were the top 5 losers of the day.
Total Kenya lost 6.41 percent at the price of 27.00 shillings per share followed by Express with the loss of 5.96 percent at the price of 6.00 shillings per share.
Liberty Kenya lost 5.45 percent at the price of 10.40 shillings per share while East African Breweries and Nairobi Securities Exchange lost 4.28 and 4.17 percent at the price of 190.25 and 11.50 shillings per share respectively.
Safaricom, which dominated last week as the top mover of the day, has kicked off the week at the same trend by emerging as the top mover of the day after moving 3.41 million shares during the session.
KCB Group and Equity Group sold 1.96 and 1.44 million shares respectively while Kenya Power and Lighting and Barclays Bank of Kenya sold 470,700 and 354,200 shares.
