To Support or Resist Homosexuality? The Great Question of our Time

BY Soko Directory Team · July 6, 2019 01:07 am

“Hey bro, have you watched the latest Hollywood series on Netflix? I think you would love it!” This is just but the suggestions I get when I engage in a conversation with folks who are movie fanatics.

“…but I don’t like this one…it is full of gay scenes…” another would opine.

Watching movies is one of my best hobbies. I mean sometimes I would even skip a meal or forfeit sleep just to concentrate on my series. A date with my crush would not be exemptional.

Then there comes the scene that irritates me the most. A lady who is very perfect and can attract anything that can be termed as a ‘male’ object on planet earth. A lady who dazzles like the tiny diamonds on a Rolex watch and just doesn’t need light to shine. Beautiful cannot find space in any sentence to describe such a being.

This sort of a deity looks at another lady, in a manner likely to suggest (how I hate using this statement, but it best describes the point that I am driving at) that she is into her. She is a homosexual! I wish I could use an emoji to help express my attitude towards this subject.

The rate at which the world is embracing and accepting this vice is alarming. I don’t mean gayism is wrong, but animals of the same sex could have been practising it nevertheless.

We should not make it look like it is good the way the media portrays it. Your sexual orientation should not be put in a way that affects others!

I agree. No one sits down one day and decides to be gay – or straight. Most lesbians and gays say they felt “different” from a very young age, long before they had any awareness of sexual desire. While this suggests that sexuality is formed unconsciously by early childhood at the latest, it does not necessarily mean we are born with a pre-fixed sexual orientation.

It is also sad to note that some people get initiated into this act without their consent. Take for example the prison situations where people, mostly men, are raped over and over again, ‘til they become addicted. Such scenarios can be understood. But as I insist, they should not use that as an excuse to initiate the innocent souls.

As a matter of fact, some people are born looking naturally or acting contrary to how people of that gender ‘should’ behave. To some, it is just a lifestyle. They just want to explore some weird side of life. Or want the world to view them differently.

The media, movie and music industries are clearly affirming this act. Whereas they claim to have their rights, they should stop imposing them on the straight person. World superpowers have even tried to impose this vice on inferior nations.

According to an article termed The Global Divide on Homosexuality, African and Muslim communities are among the least accepting homosexuality, while Western countries and Americans are in support, just as the prevalence of the act in those countries can attest.

Age is also a factor in several countries, with younger people offering far more tolerant views than older ones. And while gender differences are not prevalent, in those countries where they are, women are consistently more accepting of homosexuality than men.

A good number of movies you would watch from Hollywood, touch on this topic. Musicians are not left out in trying to pass across their message of “how being gay is good”. No wonder I keep deleting songs and movies from my PC.

This doesn’t mean we should disown them. Humans have the best gift of judging between wrong and right. However, what one thinks or perceives as right, would be the opposite to the other. We can still have them as friends and family, but don’t let them lure or corrupt you into their acts. The ball is in your court, you can dank it as many times as you like.

All in all, respect for autonomy should prevail!
