Ukur Yatani Replaces Henry Rotich As CS Treasury

President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed Honorable (Amb.) Ukur Yatani Kanacho as the Acting Cabinet Secretary (CS) for National Treasury and Planning to fill the shoes of Henry Rotich who is facing graft charges.

“In order to ensure smooth operations and continuity at the National Treasury and in line with Ministries following the Court Order affecting the CS for the National Treasury and Planning Mr Henry Rotich and the Principal Secretary for the National Treasury Dr Kamau Thugge, His Excellency the President has made changes to the organization of Government,” the statement reads.

The changes made to the Ministry of Planning and National Treasury is as follows:

• Hon. (Amb.) Ukur Yatani Kanacho, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, assumes, in Acting Capacity the Cabinet Secretary responsibility for National Treasury and Planning.
• Dr. Julius Monzi Muia is appointed as the Principal Secretary for the National Treasury.

• Mr. Torome Saitoti is appointed as the Principal Secretary for the State Department of Planning.

• Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Gordon Kihalangwa is appointed as the Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Defence.
