August 2019 is here and the moment we have all been waiting for is finally with us, a moment to enjoy our own kind of America’s Got Talent, only now it has been renamed to East Africa’s Got Talent (EAGT).
EAGT is now past the auditions, the judges have been selected and cameras steady for the show set to begin this first Sunday of August 2019.
Kenya has previously been referred to as a hotbed of a number of vices and this is most definitely the best opportunity to change the narrative and showcase it to the World as it ought to have been viewed’ a hotbed of talents’.
Well, knowing and understanding Kenyans including those that publish hilarious timely memes for every occasion, what the World should expect to view on the International podium can only be left to one’s imagination.
The EAGT, which is being produced by Clouds Media and sponsored by Kenya’s largest telecommunication company, Safaricom, has attracted contestants from Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Kenya.
The EAGT competition is expected to see the Countries participating engage in competition as contestants seek to represent their Countries in the best way possible.

The EAGT will air 10 episodes; six episodes will be edited from the auditions while the semi-finals and grand finale will be shot live on location in Kenya.
Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda’s EAGT contestants will be required to travel to Kenya for the live shows.
The EAGT winner will walk away with 5 million shillings (USD 50,000) as will be voted by the audience.
The EAGT competition will be judged by four judges, namely; Jeff Koinange from Kenya, Gaetano Kagwa From Uganda, Vanessa Mdee from Tanzania and Rwandese female DJ Makeda Mahadeo.
Each of the four EAGT judges will have a red buzzer, as is also in the case of AGT, its mother show, that can only be pressed once the judge has seen enough, and when all four buzzers have been pressed by the judges, the act must stop.
Each of the EAGT contestants will need to receive three approvals (yesses) from the judges to enable them to go through to the next round.
The EAGT show will start broadcasting on Sunday, 4th August at 8 pm, which will be 7 pm in Rwanda, across all the 4 regions. You sure cannot afford to miss even a single episode.
