SportPesa has cancelled all sponsorships for sports in Kenya with immediate effect due to a prolonged battle between it and KRA.
In a statement sent to newsrooms of Friday, the giant gaming firm in Kenya says it has been operating under a tough economic environment in the past two months.
“we regrettably wish to announce that due to the uncertainty of this situation, SportPesa will be cancelling sports sponsorship effective immediately. All clubs and partners will have received notices as provided in their contracts,” said SportPesa.
SportPesa was among the 27 firm that the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) failed to renew their operational licenses in July.
