We Do Not Have Cancer Chemicals in Our Product – Colgate

Colgate has dismissed information that was doing round across online platforms that claimed its toothpaste product contained cancer-causing chemicals.
A post on a World Healthcare platform titled Chemical Found In Colgate Toothpaste Linked To Cancer said the product contained a dangerous substance called Triclosan which can be overall health detrimental and can trigger cancer.
Researchers say the Triclosan chemical if used in large quantities can cause cancer as it has the ability to penetrate the skin and interfere with the functioning of the hormones and disrupt the endocrine.
The article, however, focused more on proving that Triclosan triggers cancer other than confirming that indeed Colgate toothpaste contained the chemical.
Now also Colgate has been found to contain chemicals that can cause cancer in human. No one is talking about it. Everyone if not all of us use Colgate every other time. Has @Colgate issued any statement on this? Now, what is really save in terms of consumables?

Colgate is one of the most commonly used product in Kenya with the news of it containing cancer-causing chemicals sending chills down the spines of millions of users. The information came at a time Kenya is contemplating declaring cancer a national disaster.
Hello, Juma. That article is from several years ago and contained misinformation about our toothpaste. Colgate will not introduce products into the market until they have undergone stringent quality and safety testing. Our reputation is built on that.

Stats show that more than 90 Kenyans die daily as a result of cancer with the disease claiming more than 30,000 lives annually. The Ministry of Health has formed a task force that will look into the cancer menace then come up with recommendations.
The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) has not given a statement on the information.
