Equity Afia Launches Its 9th Clinic In Kahawa West

Residents of Kahawa West in Nairobi will have access to comprehensive healthcare services through the launch of an Equity Afia Medical Centre in their neighborhood.

Equity Afia is a network of franchised medical out-patient centers run by qualified and experienced doctors who have come together to provide high quality, affordable and accessible healthcare to Kenyans.

Speaking during the launch ceremony in Kahawa West, Executive Director Equity Group Foundation, Reuben Mbindu said Equity Afia medical centers are National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) accredited, and they are meant to facilitate quality medical services to all Kenyans. “Through Equity Afia clinics, Kenya is a step closer to achieving Universal Healthcare Access for millions of Kenyans that need it,” said Mr. Mbindu

“The health facilities are focused on the well-being of communities with an aim of extending affordable medical services to all, without people having to dig deeper into their pockets,” he added.

Equity Afia has 8 other operational clinics in Ongata Rongai, Thika, Buruburu, Kayole, Kawangware, Ruiru, Nyeri, and Nakuru. These facilities have laboratories which are equipped with modern equipment and operated by experienced and efficient laboratory staff, a pharmacy with quality, affordable medication provided by pharmacy professionals, doctor’s consultation, nursing care services, and well-baby clinic, This is in addition to dental and optical services as well as specialist services which can be booked on request.

A total of 150,000 clients have been served and treated for various health conditions at the Equity Afia medical centers thus promoting health.

Equity Afia was established by Equity Group Foundation (EGF) to respond to the growing need for affordable healthcare for by Kenyans. It is also providing a platform for alumni of the Equity Leaders Program (ELP) who are qualified health professionals to join the franchise and use their health expertise to transform lives and livelihoods of Kenyans.
