Safaricom Kicks Off The Week As Top Mover Of The Day

Safaricom was the top mover of the day after posting a volume of 2.31 million shares at a market capitalization of 1.08 trillion followed by Kenya Re-Insurance with 1.80 million shares at 8.09 billion market capitalization.

KCB Group and Barclays Bank of Kenya sold 1.33 million and 951,700 shares at a market capitalization of 116.35 and 59.48 billion respectively. Kenya Power and Lighting sold 668,000 shares with a market capitalization of 7.03 billion.

Britam Holdings was the top gainer of the day. Britam gained 7.34 percent at the price of 7.60 shillings per share followed by Sameer Africa with 7.03 percent at the price of 3.50 shillings per share.

Flame Tree Group, TPS Eastern Africa (Serena) and Equity Group gained 6.52, 4.99 and 4.72 percent at the price of 2.45, 17.90 and 38.80 shillings per share respectively.

The top loser of the day was East African Cables with a loss of 9.41 percent at the price of 2.60 shillings per share followed by Longhorn Publishers with 6.83 percent at the price of 6.00 shillings per share.

Kenya Power and Lighting and Uchumi Supermarket lost 3.49 and 3.45 percent at the price of 3.60 and 0.28 shillings per share respectively while Mumias Sugar Company lost 3.45 percent at the price of 0.26 shillings per share.
