The just-concluded Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) 2019 results will be out before 25th December, as the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Prof. George Magoha has confirmed.

Speaking about the national exams in Kibra today, 31st October 2019, Prof. Magoha said that by the time it’s Christmas, all candidates should be able to know the schools they will be joining for their secondary school education.

“We want parents to have enough time to prepare themselves and their children early enough before school terms begin,” said Magoha.

Prof. Magoha also said that all candidates will get their rightful results as there was no exam leakage, thanks to cooperation between his ministry and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

He commended the TSC for taking swift action against exam centers that were planning on cheating and promised that those involved in the three centers (West Pokot, Nyandarua and Garissa) will face the full force of the law.

Moreover, the CS confirmed that only less than ten cases of attempted fraud were reported and action was taken before cheating was executed.

Prof. Magoha also mentioned that there were a few hitched during the concluded primary school examinations, that were brought to his attention and taken care of as required.

There were logistical problems on the first and second days of the national examinations where about 20 examination centers began later than the allocated time due to harsh weather conditions.

Several schools in counties such as West Pokot were affected following the heavy downpour that continues to be experienced in the country, that rendered roads impassable.

There were also issues with candidate exam registration as candidates and parents in Kisumu County learned that they had been registered under different institutions.

According to Prof. Magoha, KCPE 2019 was a success, and he, his ministry, the TSC, and other concerned parties will now comfortably shift their attention to the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) which is set to start on Monday, 4th November.
