Sony Sugar Risks Relegation If They Give Another Walkover

BY Soko Directory Team · October 24, 2019 09:10 am

Struggling Kenya Premier League side, Sony sugar is on the verge of relegation if they give another walkover in their next match.

Sony Sugar has so far missed two of their KPL games by giving walkovers to their opponents, a situation that will leave the team at risk if they give yet another walkover in their forthcoming match.

According to the KPL rules, a team that gives a walkover pays a fine of 500,000 shillings, one million shillings for a second walkover and 1.5 million shillings for a third walkover plus being relegated to the lower league.

Sony Sugar first boycotted their KPL match against AFC Leopards in Awendo on October 5, then missed a second match against Tusker FC on October 19.

The woes for Sony all started when they were ditched by their Sponsor, then players started a cold war against the team’s officials following unpaid dues.

Sony Sugar is expected to honor their next match against Kisumu All-Stars or face the consequences if they do the contrary.
