24 people have been confirmed dead following a massive landslide in West Pokot that buried them alive in Nyarkulian and Parua villages.
According to the area chief, Mr. Joel Bulal, many more people are still missing and hopes of finding them alive are minimal even as rescue operations continue.
Sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the West Pokot landslide. May God give you peace and comfort, and may our prayers ease the pain of this great loss. We urge those in vulnerable areas to be on alert during this period of the short rains.

The chief says many others have been left with multiple injuries following the tragedy. The Red Cross has already dispatched a team on the ground.
The tragedy in West Pokot comes even as the rain continues to pound across the country, cutting off roads in some parts like in Turkana.
