The Year 2019 has been a great one for you and LSK, How important has it been for you?
“As someone who has worn glasses since I was I was a teen vision is precious to me,” Maria Mbeneka, the LSK presidential aspirant opens up in a post shared on social media.
It is probably how relatable Maria Mbeneka’s lessons are that have had the Social Media post shared across various social platforms.
“So as 2019 winds down and we’re all geared up for 2020 I’ve been reflecting on experiences that have stayed with me over the years,” Maria Mbeneka, the LSK presidential aspirant says. “This is the advice that will take me into the New Year, 2020, so here are the 20 lessons that have seen me grow with time”
Trust your instinct it’s rarely off.
Your Mother was right and you’re still going to need her advice. If she’s alive thank God for her.
Your Father was also right. He may have been economical with the words and methods but in the end, he was right. Thank God for him too.
Honor your Father and Mother is the 4th commandment of the Lord with a promise.
“I was raised by strong Christian parents and went to a Catholic primary school. My point is your parents- bless and honor them whether they’re with you now or not.”
Marriage is a choice made willingly; be kind and gentle with your spouse even when you’re both at your worst.
Time heals everything.
Time and Nivea -the one in the blue round tin very thick cream type; trust me I lived through a motorbike accident in my 20s and didn’t need plastic surgery to heal the scars.
The struggle will pay off; it may take time but it will pay off.
Habit is created over time;
You must work at something over and over again for it to become a habit whether good or bad.
Music is good for your soul, it’s probably time you got that Playlist compiled.
Friendships and all forms of “ships” are fragile- they need attention, commitment, and sacrifice and love to survive.
Do not invest in situantionships – those things will have you out here looking crazy. Those ones are to be avoided.
Money is good. It gets you a roof over your head and sorts out the bills. It’s important; it’s not everything but it’s important.
Pay attention to how people treat you, often you will be able to tell who means well for you and who doesn’t. The first time people show you who they believe them.
Exercise is the best healthcare you can invest in from an early age.
Never regret the decisions you’ve made, learn from the mistakes and keep going forward.
Patience is not just a virtue its a survival instinct.
The internet is full of amazing things; it’s also full of a lot of fake news, fake people and untruths; not everything you see online is good for you-choose wisely.
Love is a beautiful thing. If you find it hold on to it.
What you seek is seeking you. If you’re negative and bitter that stuff will find you in bucket loads. The converse is true.
Read. Read widely and ferociously- it’s great for conversations, builds your knowledge and horizons.
It’s ok not to know everything. It really is. Every day you live you get to learn something different.
Your kids present you with an opportunity to be the best version of you; if you have kids they’re watching what you do and picking up life lessons from you.
“Invest in yourself the most you are the longest commitment you will ever make,” Maria Mbeneka, the LSK presidential aspirant writes. “Above all else, pray and believe that the New Year will bring with it a success.”
