Beware of These Black Spots While Driving Across Kenya

BY Soko Directory Team · December 23, 2019 09:12 am

Black spots are the points where most road accidents that claim large numbers of lives reoccur.

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 3000 to 13 000 Kenyans die in road accidents every year.

Despite the varying myths and explanations of why an accident after another will happen within a given radius time and again, the situation has not managed to be alleviated.

Kenyans, therefore, need to holistically learn to obey traffic rules and take personal responsibility when it comes to reducing road fatalities.

Revelations Gathered From NTSA Data:

Sadly, 2019, despite not having ended yet, has already experienced more numbers of road deaths than the year 2018.

NTSA data show that as from January to October 1, 2019, at least 2,640 deaths have been due to road accidents, an increase compared to 2,278 deaths during the same period in 2018.

Men Die More on Kenyan roads:

Men are dying more on Kenyan roads than women according to 2019 data released by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).

Between the period between January 2018 to September 16 NTSA recorded 1,756 males deaths on road accidents and only 386 females died in the same period.
