Here Are The Top 5 Most Visited Websites In Kenya 2019

As Kenyans cry there is no money and even as president Uhuru Kenyatta fails to understand why Kenyans are broke, it is surprising that a shopping website and a gambling website are on the list of most visited websites.

Sportpesa

SportPesa is a sports news technology and sports betting brand that was available in Kenya now it has operations in Tanzania, South Africa, Italy, Ireland, the Isle of Man and the UK.

Sportpesa used to operate in Kenya but on 10th July 2019, the government of Kenya gave out an order demanding the immediate withdrawal of betting codes that belonged to 27 gambling companies. Unfortunately, SportPesa was one of the 27 gambling companies that were affected by having their operating license canceled.

The betting company sent out a press release on 3rd September 2019 indicating that they had been cleared by the KRA to operate. However, the betting company is yet to resume full operations.

Jumia

Jumia is a consumer goods e-commerce retail platform that connects sellers with consumers. The company is also a logistics service, which enables the shipment and delivery of packages. Although it is associated with a bit of scandal such as delivering a lack of quality goods it is still very popular among Kenyans

They even expanded and added Jumia food that delivers food from various restaurants and Jumia drinks that delivers alcohol.

Tuko

Tuko is a Kenyan news and entertainment website that features aggregated, exclusive and users’ generated news content. It is published at tuko.co.ke.

Citizen news

Citizen is A Kenyan free-to-air television channel owned by Royal Media Services. The website mostly focuses on Breaking news, lifestyle, sports, entertainment and has a platform where one can listen to radio stations owned by Royal media services.
