KPSA Wants Form One Selection Process Done Afresh

The Nyeri county KPSA director Donisio Ndegwa at his office on Wednesday said that the form one selection process should be done afresh.

He claimed that most private Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates did not get their school of choice, he claimed that it is still early and the process can be re-done.

He further said that the method of selection should be made clear and transparent to the public with a list released, he also expressed how he thought the process was not fair and that candidates with 400 above marks were supposed to get into their second selection of schools if not the first which apparently did not happen for private school candidates.

This comes after education cabinet secretary George Magoha at the National primary school Headteachers held in Mombasa county said that the process was thorough and student selections were considered where he was responding to parents of the candidates who also complained about the selection.

He also said that a lot of students will miss placements in their choice of schools due to the scrambling for popular national schools which have limited placements and can only take a limited number of students.

For example,   Alliance High school had 83,489 applications yet it has a capacity of only  384 students, Pangani Girls had 111,817 applications yet it can only take only 336 students. While Kenya High had 49,727 applicants yet it has a capacity of only 336 students.
