Top 10 Most Preferred Secondary Schools Kenya

They are considered as giant schools that are the dream for each and every candidate that sits their KCPE, those admitted to the schools are those carried shoulder-high whenever the KCPE results are announced as they shine the brightest.

The ‘giant schools’ are known to shine brightest whenever the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results are announced making them envy for most of the pupils.

Below is the list of Kenya’s Most Preferred Secondary Schools

Pangani Girls is the most preferred secondary school among girls while Kapsabet is the most preferred among boys with 62,382 boys having chosen the institution despite its capacity of 432 boys.

Kapsabet Boys’ popularity among pupils is closely followed by Maranda High which is largely known for its great performance having maintained its great track record with the highest capacity in national secondary schools.

Mangu which has a capacity of 384 students is also very high in demand with 86,976 applicants.

Other institutions on high demand include Lenana, Nairobi School, Starehe Boys, Maseno School, Kapsabet Boys, Maranda High, Kenya High, and Limuru Girls. Others are Moi Girls Eldoret, Maryhill, and Nakuru Girls.

Alliance Girls attracted a total of 7,078 applications for the first choice, 7,876 as their second choice, 73,807 as their third choice and 3,306 as the fourth choice.

Overall, a total of 92,067 candidates sought to join the school. Ordinarily, the school – with a capacity of 384 – was the first choice of most female candidates in previous years. It will be interesting to see the trend in this year’s placement.

Some 4,225 students applied to join Moi Girls Eldoret which has a capacity of 336 while Kenya had 4,051 applicants despite 288 applicants.
